Chris Knobbe, MD, is a physician, researcher, ophthalmologist, and Associate Clinical Professor Emeritus, formerly of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas. Dr. Knobbe is known primarily for his research, publications, and presentations connecting Westernized diets to numerous chronic diseases, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, stroke, cancers, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, Alzheimer's disease, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and autoimmune diseases. Dr. Knobbe is also known for his revolutionary hypothesis and supportive research regarding the potentially blinding eye disease, AMD. Dr. Knobbe is founder and director of both the Ancestral Health Foundation and Cure AMD Foundation.

He will be presenting a talk entitled, "Obesity and diabetes: is it the sugar, ‘carbs,’ vegetable oils, or all three?"
