Humans and all living things evolved grounded (in direct contact with the earth) 24/7, that is, until recent times. However, most of us now are rarely in direct contact with earth as we walk on non-conductive flooring and sleep on raised beds, and more recently, walk with synthetic soled foot ware which insulates us from the earth’s ground. This important because we no longer have access to the unlimited supply of free electrons on the earth’s surface which is supplied by over 3 billion yearly lightning strikes and other atmospheric phenomena. When we are grounded these free electrons neutralize the inflammation in our bodies caused by electron scavenging free radicals. Thus we find that grounding can have a significant impact on the plethora of chronic inflammatory diseases plaguing our society as well as improve cardiovascular, hormonal, immune, and nervous system function, as well as, cellular bioenergetics.
